Politics

The government is elected in a multi-party general election (Uganda  every five years). The current government of Uganda is led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who was elected in the 2016 General Election. The government of Rwanda is elected multi-party system. International Affiliation - INTERNATIONAL: Commonwealth, GATT, ILO, IMF, NAM, UN, WB, WHO. REGIONAL: African Development Bank, Common Market for East and Southern Africa (COMESA), OAU (now AU), Southern African Development Community (SADC), Preferential Trade Area (PTA) and East African Community (EAC).  Foreign visitors and tourists are not allowed to engage in local politics.
